Paul Mulvany
B.Juris., Llb., Partner

Paul Mulvany is the founder of WORKFORCE LEGAL in Victoria. He is an acknowledged expert in Compensation Law in Australia and has practised in the workers compensation and WorkCover jurisdictions in Victoria for in excess of 25 years. He has conducted landmark cases on compensation at all levels and is a widely acknowledged expert on the use and abuse of the American Medical Association's "Guidelines for the Evaluation of Impairment", which underpins most Australian compensation schemes. His research and criticism of these guides has resulted in the removal of some of their unfairness.

Between 1993 and 2003 he was the National Practice Manager of the Compensation Practices of Slater and Gordon and was formerly a Judge of the Accident Compensation Tribunal of Victoria. He received the Civil Justice Award from the Australian Plaintiff Lawyers Association and an award from the Law Institute of Victoria for his work in campaigning for major changes that secured greater benefits for injured workers. He was for many years the principal legal adviser on WorkCover to the Victorian Trades Hall Council and continues to play an active role in assisting and advising council representatives in seeking improved benefits for injured workers. He has been actively involved in the development of improved guidelines for the assessment of impairment from industrial diseases and occupational asthma.

Paul Mulvany founded WORKFORCE LEGAL because of his passionate belief in the need for high quality, affordable legal assistance to workers whose lives have been devastated by injury. He is a consultant and special counsel to the firm.
