Gavin Kotnik has more than 10 years experience acting on behalf of injured workers in the Victorian WorkCover jurisdiction. He has conducted litigation in the Victorian Magistrates', County and Supreme Court's as well as in the Court of Appeal. Before joining WORKFORCE LEGAL he managed Slater & Gordon's Brisbane legal practice conducting WorkCover and asbestos cases.
He has degrees in Law and Science. In his science degree, he studied both physiology and psychology. These studies followed three years service in the Australian Regular Army's parachute battalion as an infantryman.
His knowledge of physiology gives him a particular expertise in the understanding of the mechanics and effects of injury. His service as a paratrooper, taught him that thorough preparation, strategic analysis and careful risk assessment are the essential ingredients of all success.
Gavin Kotnik has a particular expertise in the use of the American Medical Guides for The Evaluation of Permanent Impairment which are used in most Australian states and territories. He has written papers and taught lawyers on the operation of these guides. |
